If home birth isn't the right or best option for your family, we would love for you to experience relationship-centered care offered by midwife Kim, all within the convenience of the hospital. We’re here to nurture your preferences, respect your birth plan, and provide immediate access to medical support if needed —giving you both peace of mind and a sense of empowerment.

Labor is dynamic, and so are you. We encourage you to move, change positions, and follow what feels right for your body. Whether you prefer water labor for its soothing properties, or would like an epidural, we’ll help you explore your pain management options so you can focus on welcoming your baby in comfort. Wireless and intermittent fetal monitoring are also available for low-risk labors.
Your Birth Team Matters
We believe in a collaborative approach, where midwives, nurses, and physicians, work together in support of your birth experience. Doulas are a welcomed addition to your birth team, without the stress of any unnecessary "doula agreements" in place. When everyone is on the same page about honoring your choices and caring for your well-being, you can truly relax into the important moments.
Experience Labor with Our New Water Immersion Option!*
We are excited to announce that we now offer the option for labor in our Single-Use Passages Pools birthing tubs. Water labor can help enhance comfort, promote relaxation, and support a more natural birth experience. If you’re interested in exploring water immersion as part of your birth plan, we encourage you to speak with Midwife Kim to be sure you're a good candidate. We’ll work with you to ensure our water labor option is the right fit for you and your baby.
*Please note, while this is an ultimate goal of ours, we are not currently offering water BIRTH.
Midwife Kim and Prattville Midwifery are "in-network" with many insurances for hospital deliveries - including Alabama Medicaid.

Please verify your insurance coverage for your birth in the hospital with Midwife Kim, by filling out the form at the link below. There is a $25 fee to verify your benefits. You will receive a document called a "verification of benefits" from our billing department and it will outline any out-of-pocket expenses you can expect. (Not necessary if you have Medicaid or Tricare)
